RAKAIA, fob medal, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 9.75g, 28x28.5mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'NZ', reverse inscribed 'Great War/Died of Wounds/Pte H. (sic) E.Breach/4th Rfces N.Z.E.F./From/Rakaia Residents/1919'; also presentation medal to a relative (probably an uncle), R.F.C. (Rakaia Football Club), fob medal, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 6.99g, 26x26mm), no maker, ring top suspension with a few links of a gold chain attached, reverse inscribed 'Rakaia/Rugby Football Club/Mr R.Breach/Life Member/1941'. Very fine. (2)

Note: Tribute fob shows name as H.E.Breach but on service file the name is E.Breach.^^10/1749 Pte Edward Breach, Wellington Regiment, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 17 April 1915, wounded in action at Gallipoli and died of enteric 2 September 1915, commemorated at Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery.^^Mr R.Breach was presented with a life membership medal of the Rakaia Rugby Football Club at the annual ball of the football and women's hockey clubs with reference made to his 40 years of service to the club.
