SHALLCRASS TROPHY, fob medal, hand engraved in gold (9ct, 3.64g, 21x21mm), by B&K (Brown & Kerr, Nelson), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Shallcrass/Trophy/Best Subsection/Gnr Anstice/1906'. Extremely fine.

The Volunteer Battery went into camp at the Nelson Botanical Reserve in November 1906. Mr A.W.Shallcrass presented nine gold medals to be won outright and a challenge trophy for the best sub-section in the camp.
