THE ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY, Established 1891, Bronze Medallion, with brooch bar inscribed 'R.L-S.S.', reverse of medallion inscribed 'A.A.McI.Russell/Nov.18. 1910.'; Royal Life Saving Society, Hon Instructor, badge in gilt and enamel (32x35mm), by W.J.Carrol, London, pin-back; New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, cast uniface in silver (32mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Wigram Shield/1915/Napier 2nd/A.M.Russell'; Gaelic rampant lion badge crafted in silvered (25x26mm) on bar with inscribed legend 'tie nam beann (s) nan gleann s nan gaisgeach' (The land of Hills, and Glens, and Heroes', no maker, stick-pin suspension; unidentified item, features voided handcrafted monogram SW in silvered (39.5x53mm), no maker, plain reverse, across initial W near top is inscribed 'OLGL'. Very fine - good very fine. (5)

Together with photo of Angus Russell with his brother and sister about 1883 and another single photo of Angus Russell, maybe in late 40s.^^When the Napier Branch of the Roal Life Saving Society was formed in December 1910, Mr Angus Russell was elected as Secretary and also as an Instructor. In the following year at the annual general meeting at the Hawke's Bay Centre of the Royal Life Saving Society the branch's appreciation of the work done by Mr Angus Taylor, the retiring secretary, since the inauguration of the society in Napier was expressed. Mr Russell was retiring due to his approaching marriage. Mr Taylor was also active on various other community committees.
