MASONIC, Shamrock Lodge, 448, Masonic 'penny', struck in bronze (39mm), reverse inscribed 'T.Tayler/1867'. Stain on obverse at 11 o'clock, otherwise good very fine.

The Shamrock Lodge, No. 448, was opened c1860's in the Masonic Hall, Princes Street, Dunedin, under dispensation from the Provincial Grand Lodge. The 'penny' is contemporary in appearance to Tradesmen's tokens of the era.
