Born in 1880, Mr. Urquhart eventually entered the Civil Service and in I886 was appointed to a position in the Supreme Court, Auckland. He remained with the Public Service for several years before entering into practice on his own account in Rotorua in 1914. He served two terms as a councillor for the Rotorua borough, during part of which time he was deputy-Mayor and also chairman of the finance committee. He was associated with many organisations in Rotorua and is survived by his wife and daughter.'
