(TRINITY COLLEGE OF MUSIC, London), 1931, fob medal, handcrafted in voided gold (9ct, 3.36g, 25x27.5mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Lilian Smith/L.T.C.L.'; T.M.B (Timaru Municipal Band), fob medal, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 7.08g, 33x33mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'Presented/To/Miss L.Smith/L.T.C.L', reverse inscribed in the centre 'Accompaniste/T.M.B' and at the top, bottom and left side '1933/Dn.', '1934/Wgtn' and '1935/Timu'. At the Trinity College of Music, London practical examinations held in Timaru from 14-22 September 1931 Lilian Smith received a practical pass as Licentiate and was awarded a gold medal and qualified to use the postnominal credential, L.T.C.L.^^It was reported in the Timaru Herald on 11 June 1935 that at the Timaru Municipal Band solo competitions held in the Band Room at Timaru in June 1935, the opportunity was taken to make a presentation to Miss Lilian Smith, the band's official pianiste, on the occasion of her birthday, in appreciation of the work she had done in helping make the competitions a success.
