AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD, fob medal voided and die struck in enamel and gold (9ct, 8.1g, 25.5mm), by M&K (Mayer & Kean, Wellington), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'H.R. Mackenzie Esq./1913 - 1947/Deputy Chairman 1918.1922/Chairman.1922.1929'. Very fine.

Mr H.R. 'Hughie' Mackenzie was chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board and also chairman of the Otahuhu Trotting Club. He originally worked in the south but later came to Auckland where he took up farming. He bred racing stock at Ascot Farm and produced some good winners.
