BOROUGH OF ALEXANDRA, die of Borough crest, Incorporated 1867, in steel (62x17mm), screw back no maker. Extremely fine.
Alexandra, in the Central Otago District, is located at the junction of the Clutha and Manuherikia Rivers and is about 200km south-west of Dunedin. It has a population of about 5,500. It was established in 1867 and continued in operation until 1 November 1989 when it was superseded by the Central Otago District Council.
