HERBERT SMITH TRUST CUP, fob medal, struck in silver (23x29mm), hallmarked for Birmingham 1935 by maker WA (William Adams Ltd), reverse inscribed 'Herbert Smith/Trust Cup/Won By/G.Burgess/1935'. Toned very fine.

The Herbert Smith Trust Fund of Hamilton was established in 1928 to provide grants for sports trophies to various schools, colleges and sporting bodies throughout the Dominion. The Trust was created in honour of the late Herbert Smith who bequeathed ?10,000 to be spent over a period of 7 years in prizes for competitions among children of New Zealand between the ages of 9 and 15.
