W.C.S. (Waimate Country Schools), hand engraved in silver with gold centre (28x28mm), by E Mills (Dunedin), ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'AS', reverse inscribed 'W.C.S./7 A-Side/A.Steffens/1922'. Very fine.

A seven-a-side rugby tournament for country schools was held at Victoria Park, Waimate on Saturday 1 July 1922. Eight teams were entered and the winning team was Waihao Downs 3 beating Tawai 0. A.Steffens was a member of the winning team.
