T.R.C (Turanganui Rowing Club), (18)92, handcrafted medal in silver (30x39mm), by H.B (Henry Bourne, Birmingham), hallmarked for Birmingham 1891, pin-back, reverse inscribed 'J.Morell (sic Morrell)/Stk.' Securing clip for pin broken, otherwise fine.

In March 1892 in the final heat of the Turanganui Rowing Club (Juniors) race for medals, competed for by two crews, the winning crew was J.Morrell (stroke), P.Reed (3), H.Sandlant (2), and W.Steele (bow). The start was a bad one but Morrell's crew got an early lead and were never threatened, winning by three lengths.
