IRC (INVERCARGILL ROWING CLUB), fob medal, hand engraved in gold (15ct, 5.92g, 23mm), no maker, scroll and ring top suspension (ring at top of scroll needs replacing), reverse inscribed 'J.N.Barns/From Members/I.R.C./1909'. Toned good very fine.

At the 1909 annual dinner of the Invercargill Rowing Club a special presentation was made to the club secretary, Mr J.N.Barns, in the form of an Albert pocket watch and a club medallion (the above fob medal). The presentation by the members was in recognition of the years of work Mr Barns had done for the club and for rowing in Invercargill.
