(CHRISTCHURCH BOWLING CENTRE), (Champion of Champion Singles), 1937-38, plain medal in gold (15ct, 6.54g, 27mm), no maker, pin-back, obverse inscribed 'Maddison Medal/Runner - Up/1937-38', reverse inscribed 'L.W.Besley/New Brighton'. Uncirculated.

The finals of the Christchurch Bowling Centre's champion of champion singles and pairs competitions were played on the St Albans green. The singles championship, which carried with it the Maddison trophy, was won by Dr J.D.Marks, of the Christchurch Club, who beat L.W.Besley of New Brighton by one point.
