OTAGO BOXING ASSN, fob medal, handcrafted in gold (9ct; 4.89g, 28.5x28.5mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Otago Boxing Assn/Novice/Champ'ship./Won by/R.Anderson/July 1927.' Nearly uncirculated.

After R.Anderson beat A.H.Wilkinson to win the middle weight division at the Otago Amateur Boxing Championship finals in July 1927 he was selected to represent Otago in this division at the New Zealand Boxing Championship tournament at Invercargill on 17-18 August. Unfortunately he was beaten on points in his preliminary match by H.Cotter representing Greymouth.
