MANAIA (SEVEN-ASIDE TOURNAMENT), fob medal, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 5.04g, 29x34mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Manaia/7 A-Side/Rugby/1924/M.Osborne'.Extremely fine.

The Seven-Aside annual rugby tournament was held at the Manaia Domain under the auspices of the Hibernian Sports Club at the start of April 1924. M.Osborne was halfback for the Hawera A team which beat Okaiawa 5-0 in the final. At the end of the day Mr J.Landers, president, in a few well-chosen words of congratulations, presented the cup to the Hawera team captain and gold medals to each member of the winning team.
