NEW ZEALAND/NEATH ABERAVON, 1935, badge in gilt print on leather cross (44x44mm), no maker, no suspension, plain reverse. A few spots with loss of treated leather finish, otherwise fine and scarce.

Neath Aberavon was a combined Welsh team of players from Neath and Aberavon selected to represent against the touring New Zealand All Blacks rugby union team in 1935. The game was played on 14 December 1935 at the Talbot Athletic Ground, Aberavon in front of a crowd of 20,000, mostly local team supporters. The All Blacks were victorious 13-3. The Neath Aberavon team was heavily criticised in the New Zealand press for the 'crude rough and tumble effort of their forwards by reducing the match to a low level of wrestling without rules.'
