(WELLINGTON COLLEGE), sports medal struck in silver (30mm), by S.Kohn & Co, Wellington, N.Z., obverse inscribed 'A.Young', reverse inscribed 'Cup U.14/1886'; another identical, obverse inscribed 'A.Young', reverse inscribed 'High Jump U.15'. Toned, some light scuffing, otherwise nearly extremely fine. (2)

The Wellington College Athletic Sports was held at Basin Reserve in Wellington in late November 1886. The Basin Reserve is actually a cricket ground, the only one to have Historic Place history as it is the oldest cricket ground in New Zealand, although in its early days it was also used for other sporting events.
