N.Z.L.A. (New Zealand Lacrosse Association), 1900, fob medal, handcrafted in silver with gold (30.5x30.5mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'N.Z.L.A./1900/May.12/Tournament/From/A.Kohn'. Handling marks, otherwise very fine.
This tournament was played on the ground immediately opposite the Domain Pavilion. The draw for the first round was Parnell v. Suburbs, Grey Lynn v. North Shore, and Grafton v. Ponsonby. Mr Kohn, the association vice-president offered a suitable set of medals to be presented to members of the final winning team of the day's games. The victors in the final on the day were Suburbs. Mr David Goldie, the Mayor of Auckland presented the A.Kohn donated medals to the Suburbs team.
