HAWERA MOTOR SPORTS, 1918, fob medal, hand engraved in silver (28x28mm), hallmarked for Birmingham 1909 by W.A (William Adams Ltd, Birmingham), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'F.Smith./1st. Five Mile/Handicap.'. Very fine.

The Hawera Motor Sports was a special motor cycle race meeting for patriotic purposes with the majority of events being confined to amateur and local riders who in the main were riding Indians, Nortons, Harleys and Triumphs.
