CARD CASE, c1880s, in sterling silver (50x70mm when closed), hallmarked for Birmingham 1887 by maker L.E (Lawrence Emanuel), hinged lid, ring suspension at one corner, front top left corner with a depiction in ivory of a Cape of Good Hope six-pence postage stamp and this post office cancelled with post office cancellation inscribed and then black filled onto case ' Kimbe(rley/Cape Colon?/DC?/84', inscribed on the front of the case is the addressee 'H.Marchant./10 McVay St./Napier.' Some loss of detail around edges of postage stamp design, otherwise very fine.
