ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.330-290 B.C.), silver nomos (7.56 g), obv. wreathed head of Demeter right, wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace, below chin **DAI*, rev. barley ear with leaf to right, plough above leaf, META to left, (S.416, Johnston Class C, 1.34, HN 1581, SNG ANS 481). Toned, nearly extremely fine with traces of mint bloom, scarce.
