ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (272-235 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.14 g), obv. diademed head of nymph left rev. youth on horseback right, crowning horse with wreath, dolphin and TA below (cf.S.340, Vl.1000, SNG ANS 1280, HN Italy 1098). Attractively toned, nearly extremely fine and very rare in this condition.
