MACEDON, Kings of Macedon, Demetrios I Poliorketes, (306-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, Tarsos Mint, (struck c.298-295 B.C.), (16.95 g), obv. Nike standing left on prow of galley left, blowing trumpet and cradling stylis, rev. **BA-SILEW-S* below, **DHMHTRIOU* to right, Poseidon Pelagaios standing left, throwing trident, chlamys over left arm, monograms to left and right, (cf.S.6762, cf.Newell 33, Seleucus I Hoard 1037-41 var (control marks reversed)). Lightly toned, nearly extremely fine and rare.
