MACEDON, Kingdom of, Perseus, (179-168 B.C.), reduced Attic standard, silver tetradrachm, (15.41 g), either Pella or Amphipolis Mint, issued 173-172 B.C., obv. laureate bearded head of Perseus to right, rev. eagle, wings open standing on thunderbolt to right, **BASI LEWS* above, **PER SEWS* below, monograms AY above, H**R* monogram to right of eagle, AN monogram below eagle legs, all within an oak-wreath beneath which is a plow, (S.6804, Mamroth 15, HGC 3.1, 1094, Jameson 1013). Nearly extremely fine and rare.
