MACEDON, Scione (Skione), 480-450 B.C., silver tetrobol, (2.24 g), obv. male head to left, rev. human eye in incuse square, **[S* K I O] in corners, (S.-, SNG ANS 708 var. head right, cf.SNG Ash. 2371 [Pl.XLIV] head right, cf.Boutin Pozzi Colln. 1528 [p.85 Pl.LXIV] head right, cf.SNG ANS 708-9 [Pl.27] head right). Very good - fine, extremely rare.

From a small hoard, photographed by the ANS, acquired from Freeman & Sear April 26, 2009 at the Chicago Coin Fair.^The left facing head is unpublished, Savoca Auction 12 (lot 114) had an example, the only recorded sale piece.
