MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.12 g), Sardes Mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, line border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, TI in left field over an eagle to the left **[FI]LIPP[OU]* to right, (cf.S.6751, Price P94, BMC P94a-b, Thompson Sardes XIV, 252-4a). Nearly very fine and very scarce.

Ex CNG December 2, 1998, as a private purchase. In collector's descriptive 2x2 holder.
