CARIA, Pixodaros as satrap, (340-334 B.C.), silver didrachm, (6.89 g), obv. laureate head of Apollo three-quarter face to right, rev. Zeus Labraundos standing to right holding labrys and sceptre, to right **PIXWDAROU*, (S.4966, BMC 5-10, Pixodarus 11-47 [unlisted dies], SNG Keckman 280, SNG Cop 596-7). Attractively toned, of exceptional artistic merit, weakness on hair, good very fine/extremely fine and rare in this condition.
