SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochos III Megas, (222-187 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.57 g), Uncertain mint (SC) (Nisibis) (WSM Newell) Mint, issued after 197 B.C., obv. head of Antiochus III to right, with diadem, with diadem ends falling straight behind, rev. Apollo seated to left, on omphalos, holding arrow and resting on bow, to right **[B]ASILEWS*, to left AN TIOXOY, control to left **ES*, (S.6934 var., SC 1133.8a, WSM 850, HGC 9, 447). Dark patination uneven, very fine or better, very rare.

Ex Numismatica Ars Classica Auction N (lot 1379) June 26, 2003. SC notes examples also found in hoard from Pamphylia in 2000 and ICGH 1772.
