MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), AE sestertius, Rome Mint, issued 171, (22.12 g), obv. laureate head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXV, rev. around IMP VI COS III, S C across field, Victory standing right, attaching shield inscribed VIC/GER to palm tree, (cf.S.4978, RIC 1001, MIR 18, 228-6/30, Banti 129). Dark brown patination, minor traces of green, good very fine, rare.
