Together with ribbons for Defence Medal 1939-45 and War Medal 1939-45; Observer woven badge; Navigator woven badge; Navigator silvered pin-back badge; RAAF silvered and enamel sweetheart badge; Mother's and Widow's badge, by G & E Rodd, 1943, numbered AF.3448, with one star (attributed to W.D.Weekes' mother, Mrs P.A.Weekes); (Items attributed to W.D.Weekes' father, R.W.Weekes) cufflinks for Bentleigh Diggers Swimming Club in gilt and enamel and epoxy on a business card for R.W.Weekes; another similar pair of cufflinks for Castrol (Oil); A.I.F. Swimming Association Life Member badge inscribed on reverse, 'R.W.Weekes'; N.S.W. Surf Life Saving Assoc. Hon Examiner 1921 badge inscribed on reverse, 'R.W.Weekes'; Returned From Active Service badge (AIF) numbered 177056; 55th Battalion woollen ribbon; North Bondi Tobruk House RSL Club tie bar; T.H.W.R. (Tobruk House Water Rats) Life Member badge; Returned Services League Australia stick-pin with 85 overlay on crown; Palm Beach Golf Club badge; also The Australian Red Cross Branch badge (missing pin-back); Memorial Appeal stick-pin badge; Anti T.B stick-pin fund raising badge; Brisbane enamelled coat-of-arms badge (missing pin-back); a short letter sent to R.W.W. from Dubbo, NSW in 1951; all in a hinged-lid case (approx 31.5x16.5cm).^Medal entitlement recorded as 1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45, and would also be entitled to Australia Service Medal 1939-45.^Walter David Weekes, pharmacy apprentice, born 09Oct1922, at Rose May, Sydney, NSW; Father: Raymond Walter Weekes (served in WWI under service no. 59839, discharging as a Corporal from 55Bn); Mother: Phyllis Althea Weekes; Enl.18Jul1942 at No 2 Recruiting Centre, Sydney, NSW; Emb.02Nov1942; to Observer 10Sep1942; to LAC 10Oct1942; to Sgt (T) and Navigator 16Apr1943; to F/Sgt (T) 16Oct1943; various air operations until killed in an aircraft accident in England 09Apr1944 when a Lancaster crashed near Binbrook with all crew killed; Buried at RAF Regional Cemetery, Cambridge, England with full service honours.
