John Milton Beaver, labourer, age 22, born at Cobar, NSW; Enl.30Apr1941 at Newcastle, NSW; to 2/15 Fld Regt; Emb.29Jul1941; several hospitalisations; to Bdr 04Feb1942; POW 15Feb1942 at fall of Singapore and held in POW camps in Thailand and Malaya; recovered from Japanese 12Sep1945; RTA 04Oct1945; Disch.10Dec1945 at own request on compassionate grounds; commemorated at The Australian Ex-Prisoners of War Memorial at Ballarat, Vic.
