DSO AND MC AND MID GROUP OF FIVE TO KIA: Distinguished Service Order (GVR); Military Cross (GRI); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID. The first two medals unnamed, Lieut: A.L.Walker. 24/Can:Inf: on third medal, Major A.L.Walker on last two medals. The third medal impressed, the other two named medals are engraved replacements. In a timber presentation box with name gold blocked on lid and with a small framed photo of Major Walker on the underside of the lid and the display court mounted medals in fitted section and with a small brass plaque with Major Walker's name, the medals good very fine - extremely fine.

Together with a few photos and a large quantity of research including Service File.^DSO: LG 31/5/1918 - Awarded on the occasion of His Majesty's Birthday 1918. No citation.^MC: Awarded 11/4/1916 for conspicuous gallantry in action. He made reconnaissance under very heavy fire and with great courage and determination. Later he made a personal reconnaissance of the utmost value.^MID: LG 28/12/1917; 2nd Occasion: LG 24/5/1918.^Arthur Leslie Walker, bond salesman, age 27, born at Slough, Middlesex, England; Enl.26Feb1915 in overseas battalion of the regiment (i.e. 24Bn [Victoria Rifles]) CEF as an officer with previous service in 3 Victoria Rifles, Canada as Lieutenant; Emb.11May1915; served in France and Belgium as Staff Officer and Brigade Major; WIA 14May1917 GSW left shoulder; KIA 09Aug1918 when a shell exploded at Brigade HQ that also wounded Brigadier General J.M. Ross and killed and wounded a number of his other staff; Buried in Caix British Cemetery, Belgium.
