Together with South African Medical Corps badge in oxidised bronze (KC) (SAMC/SAGD [Suid Afrikaanse Geneeskunige Diens]); SAMC/SAGD title badge in oxidised bronze.^Israel Swil, chemist, born 31Oct1909 at Pakroujis (Jewish - Pokroi), Lithuania; immigrated to South Africa with his parents in 1910; educated at Boksburg and Germiston High School and Johannesburg Technical College; Secretary of Bloemhof Hebrew Congregation 1935-40 and also a member of the Bloemhof Town Council 1938-40; self employed chemist and druggist in Bloemhof, Transvaal; attested for military service 30May1940 in the De la Rey Regt and posted as L/Cpl on 18Jul1940 for hygiene and water duties; to Sgt 31Oct1940; to S/Sgt 24Sep1941; trf to S.A. Medical Corps 26Sep1941; trf on 28Sep1941 to senior Medical Officer South West Africa Command, Walvis Bay Mil Hospital until 09Dec1941; Emb.24Feb1942; to 102 Non-European (S.A.)
