TRENCH ART, ashtray made from the base of a chromed artillery shell, the base with '25Pr/II/978/MC/upright defence arrow/1943/CF', upright in the centre is a large brass machine gun shell case with chromed cartridge fitted, the base with three cigarette rests, atop the cartridge is fitted a stylised silvered Vampire jet partly made from shell casings and cartridges; another handcrafted chrome ashtray with three cigarette rests and fitted at one end is a bowed support attached to which is a crafted British Spitfire; also a crafted circular, tiered brass base and in the centre is what appears to be a cartridge and case on top of which is attached a brass model of a British Hawker Hurricane but no propeller; chromed model of a Lockheed Ventura aircraft missing propellers and with holed provision for fitting to a stand but no stand. All items need cleaning of oxidation and the first with loss of silvering, otherwise good - fine. (4)
