THE ROYAL AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY OF VICTORIA, prize medal (35mm) in gold (tested as 9ct; 22.04g), impressed date 1898, by S. & M. (Stokes & Martin), Awarded by Dept. Of Agriculture to, (inscribed, 'G.Dixon'), edge impressed 'Lincoln Ewe' at top where suspender has been fitted, in plush leather case with clear panel on lid for viewing. Good very fine.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria 28th Annual Show was opened on 30 August 1898 at the society's grounds at Flemington. In the Lincolns sheep section Mr George Nixon of Lovely Banks, Garvoc, Victoria carried off seven first prizes and two champion prizes.
