Sir Harry Sutherland Wightman Lawson (1875-1952), politician and lawyer. Born on 5 March 1875 at Dunolly, Victoria and educated at Castlemaine Grammar and briefly at Scotch College, Melbourne. He was elected to Castlemaine Bourough Council in 1899 and in November 1899 Lawson entered politics as a Liberal candidate representing CaPORT PHILLIP, KANGAROO OFFICE.
He was elected to Castlemaine Borough Council in 1899 and in November 1899 Lawson entered politics as a Liberal candidate representing Castlemaine and Maldon. During his political career Lawson held portfolios of Attorney-General, Solicitor-General and was Premier of Victoria 1918-1924.
