SCOTLAND, Perthshire, Deanston, John Buchanan's Adelphi Mills, no value stated (two shillings and sixpence), a France, Louis XV, half ecu aux lauriers, Strassburg Mint (1726-40) countermarked on the obverse Adelphi Cotton Work around a woolsack (Davis 89, Manville 24, this coin p.59). Host coin very worn, countermark very fine, rare.

Ex Kingston, C.E. Pitchfork Collection (by exchange in 1966) and W.J. Noble Collection Sale 58, (lot 1598). Twenty-one coins of this denomination known.
