MAIDEN VOYAGE OF RMS QUEEN MARY, 1936, in bronze (69.5mm) (BHM 4282; Eimer 2036), by G.Bayes for Royal Mint, obverse, starboard bow quarter of the Queen Mary with two dolphins in the sea, legend, 'Maria Regina/Mari Me/Commisit' (Queen Mary Launched Me), reverse, view of New York through the Bargate of Southampton, shields of Southampton and New York at left and right. Very fine.

These medals were initially distributed to workers at John Brown's shipyard and the remainder were sold on board the ship during it's maiden voyage.
