GROUP OF FIVE: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 3 reverse) - five clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Coronation Medal 1902, in bronze. 1799 Sjt T.W.Patrick Kitcheners F.S. on first medal, 17 L-Cpl T.W.Patrick E.Afr.M.Rif on second medal, 2 Lieut T.W.Patrick on third and fourth medals. First to fourth medals impressed, last medal un-named. Nearly extremely fine.

Together with Memorial plaque named to Thomas Wylie Patrick.
Thomas Wylie Patrick, labourer, born in Ruglen, Scotland.
Boer War: Enl Sep1897 Queenscliff Vic, with Victorian Permanent Artillery. Failed tests for the 1st Victorian Contingent, declared a deserter VGA 15Feb1901. He took a train to Adelaide and stowed away on a German barque bound for Durban. He served with Prince of Wales Light Horse and Kitchener's Fighting Scouts.
World War I: Enl. 10Aug1914 in the East Africa Mounted Rifles. Died of illness 25May1919 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
His son 1761 T.W.Patrick RAAF was KIA in WWII - 17May1943.
With extensive research in a ring binder, including copy of medal rolls and Service Records, letters, photographs, original correspondance, lid to medal box.
