Together with Petty Officer's bullion embroidered hat badge (KC); 2 arm chevrons in gilt embroidered; b&w photo of Austin in uniform; Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes Secretary's jewel in gilt and enamel, with stick-pin, reverse inscribed, 'Pres to/Bro/R.Austin C.P./Lodge Thirroul/No 131/for Services/as Secretary/1955'.
Ronald Walter Austin, pastry cook, born 09Oct1917 at Rockdale, Sydney, NSW; Enl.15Oct1942 in RANR at Sydney, NSW and mobilised same day as Cook; various postings including HMAS Wallaroo 20Mar-11Jun1943 and was on board when the Wallaroo was sunk in a collision with US Liberty ship 'Henry Gilbert Costin' on 11Jun1943; issued with two chevrons 22Aug1944; Demobilised 20Jun1946.
