SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleukos I Nikator, (312-281 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.25 g), Susa Mint, struck c.305/4-295 B.C., obv. head of hero right (assimilating Seleukos, Alexander, and Dionysus), in helmet covered with panther skin and adorned with bull's ear and horns, panther skin tied around neck, rev. Nike standing right, crowning trophy, H to lower left, AX between Nike and trophy, to left **SELEUKO[U]*, to right **[B]ASILEWS*, (S.6837. SC 174.5, ESM 418). Attractively toned, struck in high relief, good very fine and very rare.
