SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleukos I Nikator, (312-281 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.87 g), Susa Mint, struck c.305/4-295 B.C., obv. head of hero right (assimilating Seleukos, Alexander, and Dionysus), in helmet covered with panther skin and adorned with bull's ear and horns, panther skin
tied around neck, rev. Nike standing right, crowning trophy, **D*I between Nike and trophy, to left **SELEUKOU*, to right traces of **BASILEWS*, (S.6837. SC 174.4var, ESM 414var, HGC 9 34). Toned, some surface pitting, very fine and rare.
