KNIGHT COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF ST MICHAEL AND ST GEORGE, breast badge and neck badge in fitted case. Attributed to Hon. Sir John Lackey. Unnamed but with contemporary receipt from recipient's daughter. Enamel missing on top arm of cross on breast badge, otherwise very fine.

Lackey, Hon. Sir John K.C.M.G.; cr 1894; b. 1830. Chairman of Committees, 1870-1872; Secretary for Public Works, 1875-77, 1878-83; Minister of Justice and Public Instruction, 1877; President of the Legislative Council, 1892-1903; Member Legislative Assembly, 1860-65; Member Legislative Council, 1885-92.
