KOONIBBA FOOTBALL CLUB, tribute fob in voided gold (9ct; 7.70g; 34x39mm), by Wendt, ring top suspension but this broken off, obverse inscribed, 'SR', reverse inscribed, 'S.Rudolph/from/Natives at Koonibba./1916'. Apart from broken suspension, nearly very fine.
Koonibba is a small community about 40 km from Ceduna on the South Australian far west coast. In 1906 the missionaries at the Koonibba Mission Station established a football club for the native men there. In 1913 Sam Rudolph was appointed captain of the Koonibba football team.
