WELLINGTON BOXING CONTEST, prize fob in gold (9ct; 10.57g; 23x30mm), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed, 'Wellington/Boxing Contest./Won by/D.Kelly./24.5.20. Very fine.

In Wellington, New Zealand on 24 May 1920 D.Kelly fought W.E.Penno in an amateur feather-weight bout, one of three amateur bouts before the professional bout between "Tommy" Uren, the middle and welter-weight champion of Australia and "Fritz" Holland, the American champion. The fights were held at Wellington Town Hall and Uren won his bout against Holland and Kelly won his bout against Penno.^
