KILKENNY COMPETITIONS, prize medal in gold (9ct; 6.94g; 26mm), by Sarre, scroll and ring top suspension, obverse inscribed, 'Donated by Furness Ltd/1929/HS', reverse inscribed, 'Kilkenny/Competitions/Piano Solo/15 to 18 yrs./Won by/Hedley Smith'. Cleaned, otherwise very fine.

The Kilkenny competitions were held in May 1929 at the Elgin Methodist Church hall at Kilkenny, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The piano solo, 15 years and under 18 was won by Hedley Smith.
