ROWING, prize medal in silver (32mm), obverse inscribed, 'Four Oared Race/Victoria v Tasmania/won by/Victoria', reverse inscribed, 'A.Edwards/Cox/Dec. 12th 1876.'. Hairlines, otherwise fine.

This was a four-oared boat race between four Tasmanian and four Victorian youths in Melbourne on the Upper Yarra River from the Botanical Gardens to Prince's Bridge. The Victorians won by about a length.
