LYCIA, Phaselis, (c.230-190 B.C.), silver stater, (11.07 g), obv. laureate head of Apollo to right, dotted border, rev. Athena Promachos standing right on prow of galley, hurling thunderbolt; magistrate Nikion **NIKIWN* below; (S.5337, cf.Christine Heipp-Tamer 338-340. Series 10, Emission 2, p.157 Pl.27 same obverse die but a new magistrate, cf. Gorny 30 [1984] (lot 2438) same obverse die, similar Lanz 38 (lot 356). Lightly patinated, good very fine and very rare, unpublished for this magistrate.
