SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleukos I Nikator, (312-281 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.87 g), Susa Mint, struck c.305/4-295 B.C., obv. head of hero right (assimilating Seleukos, Alexander, and Dionysus), in helmet covered with panther skin and adorned with bull's ear and horns, panther skin^tied around neck, rev. Nike standing right, crowning trophy, **D*I between Nike and trophy, to left **SELEUKOU*, to right traces of **BASILEWS*, (S.6837. SC 174.4var, ESM 414var, HGC 9 34). Toned, some surface pitting, very fine and rare.
