ROMAN, (c.1st-3rd century AD), bronze military applique, pelta shape, for attachment to horse equipment or sword, (45mm x 49mm); (1st-3rd century AD), bronze applique fragment with finely worked lion design, (38mm x 35mm); (c.1st-3rd century AD), lead applique fragment, semi-circular, with military design, (60mm x 35mm). Toning, very fine and scarce. (3)

The first lot ex private collection UK. Probably acquired at Barnard Castle, County Durham in the 1950s.
